Dr. Neda Akhondan was born and raised in Tehran. She moved to California in 2007 with his husband to pursue higher education. She attended UC Davis for her graduate career where she received a Master degree in Managerial Economics. During her time at UC Davis she volunteered to run the vision booth at UC Davis Health Fair in Central Valley.
After her graduation she worked three years in a data management company but eventually Dr. Akhondan decided to pursue her heart of becoming a doctor and attend UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Her clinical experience includes externships at the Reno Veterans Affairs Hospital, Alameda Health system and Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Akhondan is glaucoma certified and is a member of the California Optometric Association, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties Society, and American Optometric Association. When Dr. Akhondan is not at work, she enjoys hiking with her husband, watercolor painting, and baking. Meeting new people from all walks of life and helping them to see the best that possibly can are what Dr. Akhondan enjoys the most. She Speaks English and Farsi. She looks forward to serving the local community in the years ahead.
