Dr. Aimée R. P. Edell is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of corneal diseases and disorders of the anterior segment.
Dr. Edell was raised in New Hampshire. She graduated with a BA in biochemistry from Barnard College in New York City and obtained her MD degree from Dartmouth Medical School, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and wrote and directed an award-winning documentary film about River Blindness in Tanzania. She completed her medical internship and ophthalmology residency at New York University where she served as Chief Resident. She completed her fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston and the Tufts New England Eye Center.
Dr. Edell’s research interests include herpetic eye disease, corneal crosslinking for keratoconus and novel approaches to the treatment of dry eye. Her work is published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology and has been presented at annual meetings of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Her hobbies include hiking, ballet, sailing, and painting.
